🌿✨ DIY Homemade Dry Shampoo Recipe ✨🌿

Say goodbye to greasy hair days with this DIY dry shampoo! Your hair will thank you for the instant refresh and added volume. Enjoy the convenience of homemade beauty with this natural alternative, made with just a few household ingredients. It's quick, cost-effective, and gentle on your hair.

Ingredients:

- 1/4 cup cornstarch or arrowroot powder

- 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder (for darker hair) OR a few drops of essential oil

- Optional: 1-2 teaspoons baking soda (for extra oil absorption, but use sparingly as it can be drying)

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mix together the cornstarch or arrowroot powder with cocoa powder (if using) until well combined. Adjust the ratio of cocoa powder based on your hair color; more for darker hair, less for lighter hair.

2. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for a pleasant scent and added benefits and mix thoroughly.

3. Transfer the mixture to a clean, airtight container for storage. An old spice shaker or a repurposed container works well for easy application.

6. To use, simply sprinkle a small amount of the dry shampoo onto your roots and massage it into your scalp using your fingertips. Focus on areas that tend to get oily.

7. Allow the dry shampoo to sit for a few minutes to absorb excess oil, then brush or comb through your hair to distribute the product evenly. I usually use before bedtime.

8. Style your hair as usual, and enjoy the refreshed and volumized look!

Tips:

- Start with a small amount of dry shampoo and gradually add more as needed to avoid over-application.

- If you find the mixture too thick or clumpy, sift it through a fine mesh strainer before transferring it to the container.

- Store your homemade dry shampoo in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its freshness.

Lavender oil also has antibacterial properties, which can improve scalp health.

Cedarwood oil balances the scalp preventing it from turning overly dry or oily. It stimulates the hair follicles and boosts blood circulation to the scalp.

Peppermint oil is also an excellent stimulant for the scalp. It has antiseptic properties which help keep the scalp infection-free. People with oily scalps and hair can benefit from Peppermint oil as it helps to control excess oil production leaving the scalp feeling clean and fresh. When applied on the scalp, it stimulates hair follicles and promotes hair growth. The menthol content in Peppermint is responsible for the cooling sensation that the oil provides. This is excellent to calm an itchy scalp or reduce skin inflammation and encourage relaxation.

Lemongrass oil is the best essential oils for hair growth. It strengthens hair follicles and prevents hair loss. Its antibacterial properties will keep your scalp clean and irritation-free.
